Booking & Sessions
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — booking is essential as spaces are limited and sessions often sell out.
How do I book?
All bookings are made online through our booking calendar.
Do I have to book a ticket for myself if I’m not skating but my children are?
No — only skaters need a ticket.
If you’re attending to supervise and not skating yourself, you don’t need to book a ticket.
Anyone who wants to skate will need their own booking.
Am I able to walk with my child to give them support, and not skate myself?
Yes. You’re welcome to walk with your child on the rink to give them support without wearing skates.
We just ask that you stay aware of other skaters around you and follow any guidance from our team to keep everyone safe.
What types of skates are welcome at Retro Rollers discos?
We welcome quad and inline skates at our discos.
Heelys, scooters and skateboards are not permitted.
Lessons are quad skates only.
🛼 SKATE HIRE
Do you offer skate hire?
Yes, skate hire is available;. Availability can vary depending on the venue and event.
What skate sizes do you have?
We have a range of skate sizes available, including children’s and adult sizes; from a toddler size 6 to an adults size 12.
Exact availability depends on the session, so please get in touch if you’d like to check sizes before booking.
How do I book skate hire?
Skate hire isn’t booked automatically with your ticket.
If you need to hire skates, please contact us before booking your session so we can confirm availability for the date and size needed. Once confirmed, you can book your tickets and add skate hire on as an 'extra' during the booking process.
Safety & Equipment
Do I need safety gear?
All under-18s must wear a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads.
Adults are strongly encouraged to wear protective gear too.
Can I hire pads?
We do not hire but we do have pads available to borrow at some sessions for 1st timers, but helmets must be brought by each skater.
Can I hire helmets?
We do not hire helmets - you would need to bring your own.

Is skating suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Our sessions are welcoming and suitable for all abilities.
What ages are welcome?
We welcome ALL ages!
WAIVERS
Do I need to complete a waiver?
Yes. All skaters must complete a waiver before taking part in a Retro Rollers session.
How often do I need to complete a waiver?
Non-members need to complete a waiver for each event they attend.
Members only need to complete a waiver once per year.
When should I complete the waiver?
Waivers should be completed at the time of booking - click FINISH at the end of checkout and you will automatically be taken to them to complete.
Do parents need to complete waivers for children?
Yes. A parent or legal guardian must complete the waiver on behalf of any child taking part.
Which waiver should i fill out?
Under 18s will need a 'child' waiver to be completed by their parent or guardian.
Over 18s should complete an ADULT waiver
Membership & App
Do I need the app to skate?
No — the app is optional. It’s useful for regular skaters and members.
Do I need to become a member?
No — membership is completely optional.
You’re very welcome to skate with us without becoming a member.
Membership is designed for regular skaters and families who attend often, as it allows you to complete your waiver once per year and collect loyalty rewards. If you only come occasionally, you can book and skate without joining.
LESSONS
Do you offer roller skating lessons?
Yes — we offer adult roller skating lessons, as well as private lessons for ages 10 and over.
Are the lessons suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. All of our lessons are beginner level only and are designed to help you build confidence, balance and basic skating skills from the ground up.
We don’t currently offer advanced lessons.
What type of skates are the lessons for?
All lessons are for quad roller skates only.
We don’t offer lessons for inline skates.
How are lessons run?
Our adult lessons are usually run in blocks, allowing you to progress gradually over a series of sessions.
Private lessons are also available and can be tailored to your individual needs.
Who can book private lessons?
Private lessons are available for skaters aged 10 and over and are suitable for beginners who would prefer one-to-one support.
How do I book lessons?
Lesson availability varies, so please get in touch with us to find out what’s currently available and how to book via the lesson page of the website.
PARTIES
Do you offer roller skating parties?
We currently only offer private ADULT roller skating parties.
However, groups are very welcome to attend our regular roller disco sessions together. This is a great option for birthdays or celebrations while still enjoying the full Retro Rollers atmosphere - venue's differ in group size we can accomodate so please contact us before booking.
Can we come to a disco as a group?
Yes, but If you’re planning to attend as a larger group, please get in touch before booking so we can advise on the most suitable session and venue.
Do you offer children's parties?
We do not currently offer these but hope to in the future!
